A 36-year-old man died after his two-wheeler was allegedly run over by a rushing automobile close to the metro station at Moti Bagh in west Delhi within the early hours of Sunday, police mentioned.
Ajay Gupta, who ran a grocery store, was returning house when he was run over, they mentioned.
The automobile was being pushed by a 28-year-old lady. The Ashok Vihar resident, an architect by occupation, was allegedly rushing when she first hit a generator after which ran over Gupta. She was getting back from a celebration in Higher Kailash when the accident occurred, the police mentioned.
The lady has been arrested, they added.
The police acquired a PCR name at 4.08 am concerning the accident. Upon reaching the spot, two autos have been present in a broken situation on the highway in direction of the Moti Nagar flyover. Neither the driving force of the offending automobile nor the sufferer was discovered on the spot, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Ghanshyam Bansal mentioned.
The motive force of the offending automobile admitted an injured Gupta to ABG Hospital from the place he was taken to ESI Hospital by his family members. When the police reached the spot, they discovered the sufferer unfit to offer a press release. He later succumbed to his accidents, Mr Bansal added.
“Inquiries revealed that the sufferer was going house after taking medicines from the hospital whereas the lady was returning house from a celebration,” the official mentioned.
Gupta is survived by his spouse and two youngsters, who dwell in Basai Darapur. His members of the family informed the police that Gupta had left house late at night time to get medicines for himself, he mentioned.
The police have registered a case beneath sections 279 (rash driving or driving on a public approach), 337 (inflicting damage by act endangering life or private security of others) and later part 304 A (inflicting demise by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.
Gupta’s physique was despatched to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for autopsy, the police mentioned.
